The Department of Disaster Management in coordination with SDRF, Health Department, Fire Department, District Administration and the city police will be conducting a weeklong capacity building training at Doon Hospital from tomorrow. It will be followed by a mock exercise later.
While briefing mediapersons today Savin Bansal, Additional Secretary, Disaster Management, said since the state had already implemented the instant response system (IRS), the week-long exercise would be aimed at testing the internal coordination among departments at the time of emergency such as fire or other emergency situations.
This activities that will be taken up will include survey of Doon Hospital to understand and know various arrangements, coordination among district administration, Doon Hospital authority and the state government for mobilisation and deployment of resources, management of traffic – internally as well as outside the hospital campus, mob management specially for relatives of affected persons carrying out capacity building programme, which will be followed by a mock exercise.
