CM: People’s role vital check water pollution

DEHRADUN: Chief Minister Harish Rawat said today that collective efforts were needed for creating awareness among residents about the importance of cleanliness.

Chief Minister Harish Rawat said today that collective efforts were needed for creating awareness among residents about the importance of cleanliness. Every section of society should contribute to check water pollution.

 

Addressing a gathering at the Tapkeshwar temple here, the Chief Minister said reviving dying streams of the state was a major concern for the state government. He added plans were in the pipeline for for the purpose.

 

He said the construction agencies would not be allowed to tamper with the Himalayan ecology. Earlier, members of MAD, an NGO, gathered at Mahendra Ground Garhi Cantt and held an awareness rally that culminated at the Tapkeshwar temple.

 

Abhijay Negi, founder member, MAD, said they were making efforts to revive dying streams in the city. Syed Manzer Imam, Manvendra Rawat, Sammanika Rawat, Karan Kapoor, Sourabh Nautiyal, Shaurav Upadhyay, Saurav Joshi, and Sumedha were present.
