MUSSOORIE: Sixty units of blood were collected at a camp organised by the Indian Medical Association, Dehradun, at Oak Grove School today.

Sixty units of blood were collected at a camp organised by the Indian Medical Association, Dehradun, at Oak Grove School today.

The camp was jointly inaugurated by JP Pandey, Principal, Oak Grove School and Dr Heena Dhobal, Additional Divisional Medical Officer, Oak Grove School hospital, Jharipani.

As many as 60 persons of teaching, non-teaching staff along with boys of Class-XII donated blood.

Pandey said donating blood could save someone’s life and give happiness to a family. He said blood donation was a heavenly donation. “Accidents happen almost daily and blood donation could save the lives of accident victims,” he said.

Dr Richa Mishra, senior DMO, Oak Grove School, Jhariapani, said there were a lot of misconceptions related to blood donation which were not true.

Sanju Pandey, Tanuja Joshi, Headmistress, Oak Grove Senior Girls’ School; Krishna Kumar, Headmaster, Oak Grove Boys’ School; Amita Srivasatava, Headmistress, Oak Grove Junior School; Dr Sanjay Dube; Dr Atul Kumar Saxena; Dr Piyush Goel, Assistant Director Technical; M Bharti Sharma, Senior VBD promoter and Teacher, Deepak Daniel, VBD Promoter and Teacher Amit Kumar, Rajani Arya and RS Mehra were present on the occasion.
