Activists from the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal, Team Anna, Kisan Manch and the Rajya Andolankari Sangathan expressed grief over the casualties at the massive earthquake in Nepal.
At a condolence meeting held at Gandhi Park here today, activists prayed for the speedy recovery of severely injured victims.
Expressing his views, Bhopal Singh, state president of the Uttarakhand Kisan Manch said Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal should take effective steps to address grievances of farmers. He expressed concern over the increasing suicide cases by farmers across the country.
He said that state government should immediately arrest those who provoked Gajendra Singh to commit suicide. Singh demanded adequate monetary compensation for farmers who faced the brunt of unpredicted rain that lashed different parts of the country.
Bhopal Chowdhury, Manmohan Lakhera, Anoop Negi, Manoj Dhyani, Jabbar Singh, HS Negi, AS Kashyap, Surendra Bhatt, Puja and others were present on the occasion.
