Dehradun, November 23
Researchers in the field of ancient poetry will get incentives from the state government, Chief Minister Harish Rawat has said.
The CM, while announcing this after inaugurating a three-day ‘Mahakavi Kalidas Sammelan’ at Kaviltha in the Kalimath area of Rudraprayag district yesterday, threw light on the Puranic history of Kalimath and said Kalidas’ poetry was renowned all over the world.
Research in the field of ancient poetry helped introduce the younger generation to the treasure trove of Sanskrit literature and would be encouraged, he said.
The CM said the lesser known temples in the area, including Kalimath, Tungnath and Madmaheshwar, would be developed on the lines of Kedarnath to give a boost to religious tourism. Kalidas is said to belong to the Kalimath area. — PTI
