Dehradun, January 1

The government has promoted Principal Secretary, Department of Forest and Environment,

S Ramaswamy and Principal Secretary, Department of Horticulture and Agriculture, Ranbir Singh to the post of Additional Chief Secretary.

With the promotion of the two senior IAS officers, the state government has now three Additional Chief Secretaries. However, a total of four posts exist under the apex scale(80,000 pay band), including that of the Chief Secretary.

Earlier, at the Department Promotion Committee meeting held in New Delhi yesterday, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) approved the apex grade scale (pay scale 80,000) for the two IAS officers.

Meanwhile, the government is likely to initiate the exercise of promoting IAS officers who have completed 13-15 years in service to super time scale.
