Dehradun, August 11
Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHA) held a demonstration here today in support of their demands for better salary, risk allowance, filling of vacant posts and resolution of pay anomalies.
The protesters under the banner of the ASHA Workers Association gathered at the Parade Ground and raised slogans against the state government.
They said memorandums of demands had been submitted to government officials and public representatives, but to no avail. According to them, Chief Minister Harish Rawat had given them a false assurance that their demands would be fulfilled soon. It is high time that they should be heard, they said.
Shiva Dubey, Deepa, Kiran, Guddi, Garima, Kavita and Manju among others took part in the protest.
