It is the duty of investigating officers to update themselves on cyber related cases. Information technology is widely misused to commit cyber-related crimes. DGP MA Ganpathy stated this at a function to inaugurate the state’s first cyber training centre at cyber police station here on Saturday.
The DGP expressed concern over rising cases of cyber crimes. He said updated knowledge would help investigating officers to solve cyber-related cases. The centre would impart training to investigating officers to solve such cases. The investigating officers would be trained how to collect information and investigate cyber crimes.
The DGP said those who were trained at the centre would train policemen at police stations in the latest cyber technology and information technology. At present police officials have to go to Delhi or Noida to solve cyber crimes.
ADGP Ram Singh Meena, IGP (Operations) Sanjay Gunjyal, IGP (Law and Order) Deepam Seth, SSP (STF) P Renuka Devi, SSP Sweety Agarwal were present.
