Dehradun, March 22

Supporters of BJP’s Dehradun Cantt legislator Harbans Kapoor today staged a protest at the residences of party’s state president Ajay Bhatt and Cabinet minister Prakash Pant, demanding a ministerial berth for Kapoor.

The protesters resorted to sloganeering against Bhatt and Pant. They accused the BJP leadership of continuously ignoring Harbans Kapoor, one of senior MLAs in the region.

“Kapoor, who has won the Assembly elections for eight times in a row, should have either been made Speaker or a minister. The protest will be continued until our demands are met,” the protesters said.

Meanwhile, Bhatt assured the protesters to convey their concerns to the party highcommand. He said the party understood the sentiments of workers. Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha state vice-president Sachin Gupta, Bhushan Bhatia, Anjay Bisht and Uday Singh Pundir among others took part in the protest.
