A 10-day yoga training camp concluded at Swami Bhumanand Nursing College here today. Participants, comprising mostly housewives, were provided certificates on the final day.
The free camp was organised under the guidance of yoga expert Dr Urmila Pandey, who demonstrated complex yoga asanas at the concluding session, which would be taught to the participants in the next camp later this year. “Yoga is a medium to bring inner peace, increase meditation, concentration and overall health. It also paves way for spiritual bliss. Yoga has now become the foremost art for healthy living. The more one practices it, the more one gains,” she said. The sessions also focused on curing various health ailments through yoga, she added.
Bhumanand Hospital Director Arvind Sharma said a regular practice of yoga asanas increases immunity and provides mental and physical health.
“Soon, the medical staff and students of our college will carry out mass awareness drive regarding yoga and its health benefits. The success of the recently observed International Yoga Day on June 21 has proved that yoga will soon retain its lost glory and status as the best health art,” said Dr Aggarwal from the hospital.
