HARIDWAR: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) discussed the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and ban on cow slaughter during a two-day meeting that began here today.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) discussed the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and ban on cow slaughter during a two-day meeting that began here today. More than 150 office-bearers of the suggestion committee are attending the meeting.

Former international president of the VHP Ashok Singhal, however, could not make it to the meeting this time owing to health-related issues. The meeting is being presided over by VHP president Praveen Bhai Togadiya.

VHP delegates and saints expressed concern over pollution in the Ganga. They urged people to contribute in ensuring cleanliness in the Ganga in order to restore its sanctity and purity.

The other issues which are being discussed include ‘love jihad’, moral values in the younger generation, the alleged misuse of government money by NGOs and other social and religious issues.

Mahant Dharam Das, Prem Shankar Das, Kankhaiiya Das, Chinmay Das, Akhilesh Das, Swami Shanti Giri, VHP general secretary Champat Rai, organiation secretary Dinesh Kumar, Jeeveshwar Mishra, Bal Krishan Naik, Vinakayr Rao, Desh Pandey, Bhai Ragvalu, Purushottam Naryaan SIngh, Koteshwar Sharma and Ashok Tiwari were present during the meeting.
