Cong seeks quota in Central jobs for state youths
Dehradun, June 25
A delegation of the Uttarakhand Congress led by state party president Kishore Upadhyay met Governor KK Paul in Dehradun today and demanded reservation for Uttarakhand youths in Central government jobs.
The leaders submitted a memorandum addressed to President Pranab Mukherjee to the Governor. They urged the President to ensure reservation to entire the Uttarakhand region in Central government jobs. They said there was lack of job opportunities in Uttarakhand, which was forcing the youth from hills to migrate to other parts of the country. This was a cause for concern and calls for urgent attention.
The memorandum also demanded Rs 5 crore from the Centre for the betterment of Char Dham roads. It demanded Rs 10,000 crore for the establishment of a permanent capital in the state. Rajesh Junwatha, Rajendra Bhandari and Lakhpat Butola were part of the delegation that met the Governor. — TNS
