CS for basic amenities in new municipal areas

Uttarakhand Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh has directed for ensuring all necessary civic amenities in the villages that have been recently included in the municipal areas.

Presiding over a meeting of district magistrates through video conferencing in Dehradun, Chief Secretary Utpal Kumar Singh said as a large number of villages have been included within the municipal areas, it was important that these newly included areas now get all basic civic amenities as being provided to areas already under municipal limits.

He said the cleanliness arrangements, street lights, road infrastructure and other facilities like clean drinking water must be made available in these newly included municipal areas. He also held that if necessary a work plan should also be prepared and sent to urban development department for the purpose.

Uttarkhand housing secretary Amit Negi, drinking water secretary Arvind Singh Hyanki, and Additional Secretary Planning Ranjit Sinha were prominent present at the meeting.
