250 take part in UPES conference

DEHRADUN: A two-day international conference on “Next Generation Computing Technologies” (NGCT 15) began at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) here today.

A two-day international conference on “Next Generation Computing Technologies” (NGCT 15) began at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) here today. Around 250 scholars from India and foreign countries are taking part in it.

Dr Rajendra Dhobal, Director General of UCOST, inaugurated the conference in presence of guest of honour Dr PK Garg, Vice-Chancellor of Uttaranchal Technical University. They also released a scientific souvenir was also released in the presence of Prof SJ Chopra (UPES Chancellor) and Prof Shrihari Honwad (Vice Chancellor of UPES).

Arun Dhand, Director for Media Affairs in UPES, said almost 250 participants from various national organisations and 15 countries took part in various sessions. Technical discussions on current and future trends were broadly split in six main conference tracks namely, high performance computing, business analytics and informatics, communication and computer network, security and privacy, image processing and artificial intelligence, and advanced technologies.

About 800 research papers were submitted at the conference. Around 200 papers were accepted for presentation.

The conference is being organised under the aegis of the Centre for Information Technology in association with the UP section of Indian Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE).

The co-sponsors included DRDO, DST, UCOST, ONGC, and RCPL. NGCT 15 was the first conference of its kind to provide an international arena to a comprehensive community of technocrats, researchers, educators, software engineers, IT professionals, and scholars to share their novel thoughts and collaborate towards technological enlightenment and growth.
