Elephant strays into village

Dehradun: Elephant menace continues to affect Haripur Kalan village in Raiwala area, which is in close proximity to the Rajaji Tiger Reserve. An elephant entered the locality on Friday and damaged the boundary wall of a house. Villagers then alarmed the forest officials about the presence of the elephant. Satendra, pradhan of the village, said the elephant continued to wreak havoc in the village for nearly an hour before going back into the forests. TNS
