Family proud of Maj Shukla’s heroics

DEHRADUN: Doonite Maj Rohit Shukla’s family is proud of his heroics. Major Rohit had led the team of security forces that gunned down dreaded militant Sameer Ahmed Butt in Pulwama on Tuesday. Rohit himself suffered injuries and is undergoing treatment.

Doonite Maj Rohit Shukla’s family is proud of his heroics. Major Rohit had led the team of security forces that gunned down dreaded militant Sameer Ahmed Butt in Pulwama on Tuesday. Rohit himself suffered injuries and is undergoing treatment.

Hizbul’s dreaded terrorist Ahmed Butt, who killed a large number of innocent civilians, had challenged Major Rohit Shukla on social media. Eighteen hours after the terrorist challenge video on social media went viral, Major Rohit acting on vital inputs led a team of armymen from Rashtriya Rifles gunning down the dreaded terrorist in the Pulwama region of Jammu and Kashmir. In the operation, Major Rohit also suffered a bullet wound on his hand and has been undergoing treatment since then.

Family of Major Rohit Shukla resides at Dalanwala, Dehradun. His father Gyan Chandra Shukla and mother Lakshmi Shukla are lawyers by profession. His sister is also undergoing a law course. An alumni of St Joseph Academy, Major Rohit Shukla got into Army by getting selected through NDA examination.

On March 27, Major Rohit was also presented Shaurya Chakra by President Ramnath Kovind in New Delhi. — TNS
