Fuel station cashier robbed of Rs 50,000

DEHRADUN: A gang of three armed men allegedly looted Rs 50,000 from the cashier of Balaji petrol pump, about 20 km from here, at Badowala last night.

A gang of three armed men allegedly looted Rs 50,000 from the cashier of Balaji petrol pump, about 20 km from here, at Badowala last night. The city police cordoned off the entire area and carried out a search operation, but to no avail.

According to the police, the three armed men came to the petrol pump and asked the staff to fill petrol in their car. They looted the cash from the cashier at gun point.

The cashier said they managed to escape from the scene and threatened the filling station staff of dire consequences if they raised an alarm.

He said petrol pump staff hurled stones at the miscreants’ car.

A police team, led by SSP Pushpak Jyoti and SP (City) Ajay Singh and the Patel Nagar Station House Officer reached the spot.

They used without number plate car for committing the crime. The police team found a toy gun, 200 metres from the crime scene.

Acting swiftly, SSP Jyoti immediately made several police teams to nab the accused. The police sealed inter-district borders to nab the accused but to no avail. The Dehradun police failed to make breakthrough in the case.

He claimed that the accused would be arrested soon.
