The monitoring of Central development schemes and projects will now be done online.

For this, an online portal is being developed through which Central and state officials can monitor and know the working of the projects instantly. The status of the projects will be updated daily.

Haridwar district has been selected as a pilot project district under the scheme.

Public Financial Management System (PFMS) nodal officer Jaspal Kaur Pradhyut stated this at a meeting of district officials at August Kranti Bhawan, near Har-ki-Pauri, here today.

Jaspal said officials involved in Central-aided projects would upload the latest information and details on the web portal, which would be monitored to track the current status of the projects.

She added this would prove beneficial in speedy implementation, completion and assessment of the projects. “Till date the tracking of details of payments released by the government to the treasury and then to banks was not done through this portal. The development scheme funds released will now be easily tracked online by linking it with the core banking system. By this we can know whether funds are being used properly or not,” she added.

District Magistrate SA Murugesan said a database of all projects of the Indian government was being created under the PFMS. He added that joint projects of the Union and state governments would be mapped through the PFMS portal and agencies at the district level would be allocated various development schemes and projects.

“Registration of agencies will be done for all schemes at the state, district, block and panchayat levels. All such schemes will be linked with the portal for which verification of all schemes and agencies at the district, block and panchayat levels is being done,” said Murugesan.

Chief Development Officer Dr Meharban Singh Bisht, Chief Treasury Officer Ratnesh Kumar Singh, Chief Finance Officer Tanjeem Ali, Senior Finance Officer Manmohan Mainali and District Development Officer Pushpendra Chauhan attended the meeting.
