Helicopter service for Hemkund pilgrims

DEHRADUN: The helicopter service will continue this time as well for the Hemkund Sahib pilgrims.

The helicopter service will continue this time as well for the Hemkund Sahib pilgrims. The portals of the shrine will open on May 25. The chopper service will be available between Govindghat and Gangaria.

Vehicle parking facility will be available at Govindghat instead of Pulna near at the base camp of the shrine to avoid traffic congestion on the National Highway. Pilgrims can avail cab service from Pulna at a nominal fare of Rs 35 per person. They will neither be allowed to start their yatra from Govindghat nor allowed to return from the shrine after 2 pm.

SDM SS Negi said necessary arrangements had been made to ensure a hassle-free pilgrimage. He said free boarding and lodging facilities were available for pilgrims on the first come first serve basis at shrine.
