Laptops donated to jail inmates

DEHRADUN:Extending its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) today donated 10 laptops to the Dehradun jail authorities.

Extending its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES) today donated 10 laptops to the Dehradun jail authorities. 

Inaugurating a newly set up computer laboratory, Dr PVK Prasad, Inspector-General of Prisons, Uttarakhand, said he was grateful to the university that it had not only donated the laptops but also undertaken to train the jail inmates on these computers. The computer lab was inaugurated in the presence of Dr SJ Chopra, Chancellor, Dr Shrihari, Vice-Chancellor, Sanjiv Zutshi, senior director, Arun Dhand, director, apart from MS Gwal, Jail Superintendent. — TNS
