Martyr’s body reaches Rishikesh

Dehradun, June 17

A large gathering was witnessed in front of the house of martyr Rifleman Bikas Gurung in Rishikesh when the mortal remains of the jawan reached here on Sunday.

Bikas Gurung, 21, attained martyrdom in a ceasefire violation by Pakistan in the Naushera sector of Jammu and Kashmir yesterday. The body of the martyr reached the Jollygrant airport in the afternoon from where it was taken to Rishikesh. 

Martyr’s father, who retired as Naik, Ramesh Gurung recalled his son’s active participation in sports activities. An inconsolable father said his son was loved by everybody in his unit. — TNS
