Dehradun, June 24
The Director General, NCC, Lt Gen P P Malhotra, on Sunday met Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat and sought land for setting up the NCC state headquarters and the academy building.
General Malhotra said the NCC was keen in setting up its headquarters in Uttarakhand.
The NCC organises as many as 37 camps in the state every year.
He also sought the state’s logistics support for NCC camps.
He told the Chief Minister that a state advisory committee of the NCC would soon be set up in the state.
Rawat assured General Malhotra of making all efforts towards earmarking land for the NCC headquarters and the academy.
The Chief Minister directed Finance Secretary Amit Negi to identify school buildings, panchayat bhawans and other government offices which are not in use.
Additional Director General, NCC, Uttarakhand, Maj Gen C Mani was also present.
