State Congress President Kishore Upadhyay ruled out resentment in Congress over newly announced state executive but even assured more inclusions in the executive committee of the party in the near future.

Addressing a press conference, Upadhyay said he would include more dedicated party workers in the state executive in near future. Upadhyay said the newly announced state executive of the Congress was balanced with representations from all sections of the society. He said the party had attempted to include both experienced and young in the executive. He, however, assured to include more women members in the state executive.

He denied that 62 member state executive was jumbo sized. “This is not a big executive in terms of strength as in the past there have been bigger Congress working committees in the state,” Upadhyay pointed out.

Upadhyay said he would not tolerate any indiscipline in the party and any party worker found airing his grievances to the media instead of party forum would face stern action. Referring to the reason behind making the deceased Cabinet Minister Surendra Rakesh’s brother Subodh Rakesh a general secretary in the state executive instead of long serving party members, Upadhyay said Subodh had joined the Congress along with his supporters at a time when the party needed a boost during the Lok Sabha polls.
