Police close to solving twin murder case: SSP

Assuring people of the police closing in to solve the sensational twin murders case that rocked the district yesterday, Haridwar Senior Superintendent of Police Sweety Aggarwal today claimed the police had got vital clues in both the cases.

The Senior Superintendent of Police told TNS that police investigating teams had found several vital clues and information about the accused involved in separate murder cases pertaining to Jamalpur and SIDCUL Industrial Area.

At Jamalpur village of Kankhal, a 14-year-old girl was found brutally murdered at her house when she was alone.

At SIDCUL Industrial Area IP-2, Shivam Vihar Colony, a 7-year-old girl was found murdered, with both girls murdered with sharp weapons.

In the past fortnight, four murder cases have rocked the district, with questions on the law and order situation cropping up.

“We had solved two murder cases last week and arrested four convicts who had fired at a father-son jeweller duo. The police are doing their work. In these twin cases too, we have found substantial and credible evidences. Soon, we will crack these cases too. Prima facie, the culprits seem to be those close to the families,” said the Senior Superintendent of Police.

Meanwhile, the police today arrested Ishan, resident of Mohalla Kila Kasba Landaura, Mangalore, on charges of raping a minor on April 11.

On a tip-off, Mangalore police team arrested Ishan today. He confessed to having raped the minor when she was alone in the house.

Khanpur police today also arrested two persons, Radhe Shyam and Rakesh Kumar, from Mashora tri-section.

They were illegally ferrying country-made liquor bottles for selling.
