President to honour 12 police personnel from U’khand

DEHRADUN: A total of 12 police personnel from Uttarakhand will be awarded with police medals for commendable service by President Pranab Mukherjee on the occasion of the Republic Day celebration in New Delhi on Monday.

A total of 12 police personnel from Uttarakhand will be awarded with police medals for commendable service by President Pranab Mukherjee on the occasion of the Republic Day celebration in New Delhi on Monday.

Out of the 12 personnel, three are selected for the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service, seven for Police Medal for Meritorious Service and two for Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service.

IG GC Pant, Deputy Superintendent Shakuntala Hotiyal and SI Chandra Mohan will be awarded with the President’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service.

Chief Fire Officer Rajendra Singh Khati, and leading fireman GS Bisht will be awarded Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service.

Superintendent VK Singh Karki, Deputy Superintendents PS Pangti, BC Pandey and RS Hyanki, Inspector IL Tamta, Platoon Commander Jeet Singh and Head Constable Ganesh Ram, will be awarded the Police Medal for Meritorious Service.

8 personnel to be awarded for winning sports event

Uttarakhand DGP BS Sidhu will give prizes to eight police personnel who excelled in the All-India Police Sports Competition on the occasion of the Republic Day celebrations tomorrow.

The ceremony is slated to be organised on the police headquarters campus.

SI Hemlata Semwal, head constables Ravindra Rautela, Pankaj Dimri and Bhagwant Kholia, constables Manish Rawat, Yashjeet, Shiv Kumar and Mukesh Rawat will be honoured on the occasion. The awardees will get a certificate of appreciation and cash prize of Rs 1 lakh each.
