Mussoorie, December 4

Urban Development Minister Pritam Panwar laid foundation stones of six developments projects worth Rs 3.15 crore here today.

Among these is the Khatta Pani Road project that residents have been demanding since Independence. The estimated cost of this project is Rs 1.21 crore.

Panwar said he was elated as the long-pending demand of villagers in the region to construct Khatta Pani Road had been fulfilled during his tenure. The road would be constructed from near Butcher Khana to Khatta Pani. The Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority will carry out the construction work.

A portion of the road was constructed a few years ago by the Municipal Council, but the work was halted midway due to some reasons. “The construction of this road will make the region a major tourist hub and generate employment opportunities for the local youths,” he said.
