Protests against Rohingyas in Doon

Members of various religious groups held demonstrations on the Rohingya issue here. 

The Hindu Jagran Manch held a protest in Rishikesh against the possible influx of Rohingyas from Myanmar into India. They also submitted a memorandum addressed to President Ram Nath Kovind to the administration seeking blanket ban on the entry of Rohingyas refugees into the country. 

“The country is already facing challenges in terms of limited resources. There is no point giving refuge to Rohingyas,” said Rajeev Gupta, a member of Hindu Jagran Manch. 

The manch also held a demonstration at Haldwani in the Kumaon division of the state.  On other hand, members of the Jamait Ulema Hind recently held a mammoth rally in Dehradun seeking asylum for Rohingya refugees. They also demanded stern action against Mayanmar for atrocities against the Rohingya.

They also submitted a memorandum addressed to the President to the District Magistrate demanding justice for Rohingya.
