Ramdev now Haryana brand ambassador

Yog guru Ramdev has been made brand ambassador of Haryana.

Haryana Cabinet Minister for Health Anil Vij today made an announcement in this regard at Divya Yog Mandir, Kankhal here in Ramdev’s presence.

Ramdev was born at Alipur village of Mahendragarh district in Haryana. He later went to the Himalayas in Uttarakhand for yoga, meditation and ayurvedic practice. At present, he lives at Patanjali Yogpeeth.

Vij said the Haryana government had taken the decision in view of Ramdev’s contribution in the field of yoga and ayurveda. Haryana could soon turn into a hub of yoga and ayurveda, with the state government earmarking 6,500 villages, all semi-urban towns and cities where yoga centres will be opened.

“All government and non-government schools and anganwadi centres will be providing yoga education to the school students,” Vij stated.

Yoga teachers would be appointed for the purpose.

Anganwadi activists will also be trained in yoga and ayurveda. An ayurvedic university and naturopathy centre will be built in Panchkula towards making Haryana a yoga and ayurveda hub.

Ramdev said Haridwar-based Patanjali Yogpeeth and Patanjali Ayurvedic University will tie up with the Haryana government to train teachers and anganwadi activists in yoga.

“We will start refresher courses in yoga for this project. As many as 550 ayurvedic doctors of Haryana will be trained in higher ayurvedic and naturopathy courses. Herbal forests will be developed in collaboration with Haryana government,” said Ramdev.

On the issue of black money, Ramdev said the people of India have faith in PM Narendra Modi and the money will surely be brought back from foreign banks to India.

As for the multi-million dollar turnover of Patanjali group of companies, general secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth Acharya Balakrishan said their sole motive is to provide swadeshi, natural and pure products.
