Rohit Shekhar, son of former Uttarakhand Chief Minister ND Tiwari, is not being given ticket from any constituency this election as he has expressed his desire to work for the BJP organisation, BJP state president Ajay Bhatt said in Almora today.

Bhatt stated this while talking with mediapersons at the residence of rebel BJP leader Kailash Sharma who had announced to contest the elections as an Independent candidate after the party denied him the ticket. Bhatt said though the Tiwari family had joined the BJP, according to information, Rohit Shekhar was not insisting on contesting the elections. “Though it is for the BJP leadership to decide on ticket to a family member of ND Tiwari, Rohit Shekhar, according to information, is not contesting from any seat this elections,” he added.

Bhatt’s statement is relief for BJP leaders who want to contest the elections from either Haldwani or Ramnagar that Rohit Shekhar was also eyeing.
