Rs 6 cr for ambulance service

Dehradun: The state government on Tuesday released Rs 6 crore pending amount for GVK EMRI 108 ambulance service. The ambulance services were badly affected in the state due to lack of funds. Even the staff had not been paid salaries. Meanwhile, a pregnant woman in Ghansali (Tehri) delivered baby in a milk van on Monday. She was being taken to hospital in the milk van as the ambulance at Pilkhi developed technical snag.  Dr YS Thapliyal, Chief Medical Officer, Tehri, said, "I have informed the health authorities concerned and urged them to strengthen ambulance services in the rural areas.” TNS
