SDFU to take part in mountain development summit

DEHRADUN:The Sustainable Development Forum Uttaranchal, an organisation of intelligentsia from various fields working for sustainable development of Uttarakhand, will participate in the sixth Sustainable Mountain Development Summit to be held in Mizoram from September 20-22.

The Sustainable Development Forum Uttaranchal, an organisation of intelligentsia from various fields working for sustainable development of Uttarakhand, will participate in the sixth Sustainable Mountain Development Summit to be held in Mizoram from September 20-22.

At a meeting of SDFU held at Vigyan Dham, Jhajra and Dehradun, speakers at the meeting discussed about various issues to be taken up at the sixth Sustainable Mountain Development Summit in Mizoram.

It was also decided that the SDFU would work in coordination with the International Mountain Initiative as a network partner for achieving the objectives through its work in Uttarakhand. Potential for successful work plans in Uttarakhand was also discussed. The speakers also stressed on exploring possibilities for ensuring the participation of educational institutions.

Senior academicians and former bureaucrat including Padama Shri Prof AN Purohit, STS Lepcha, Dr BK Joshi and BS Barfal attended the meeting.
