Oak Grove School adjudged overall athletics champ

Oak Grove School emerged the overall champion in the inter-school athletics meet held at the school ground in Mussoorie today.

In the boys’ category, Oak Grove School stood first while Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School stood second. In the girls’ category, Oak Grove School was declared the winners while Mussoorie International School stood second.

Guru Nanak Fifth Centenary School, Manav Bharti International School, Hill Bird School, Mussoorie International School and Oak Grove School participated in the athletics meet.

Oak Grove School obtained 414 points in the high Jump, relay races, discuss throw and games such as throw ball, badminton, table Tennis and basketball held all round the year. Gurru Nanak Fifth Centenary School obtained 216 points and was adjudged second. In the girls’ category, Oak Grove School obtained 369 points and was declared the winners.

Former MLA Jot Singh Gunsola gave away citations and awards to the winners on the occasion. Guest Upendar Singh Thapli appealed to students to stay away from drugs and liquor. GNFC dean ND Sawhney and former Municipal Council president OP Uniyal were present on the occasion. Principal of Oak Grove School JP Pandey thanked the participants and the organisers.
