Uttarakhand Chief Minister TS Rawat said today that during the one-year rule of his government, several effective measures have been taken to weed out corruption. “There is fear among the corrupt as they know our government will strike hard against them. So much so, some among the corrupt are even thinking of surrendering the ill-gotten gains,” said Rawat while speaking at his government’s anniversary function held at the Parade Ground.

He reiterated that before coming to power in the state along with weeding out corruption, “We have also ensured there is improvement in the law and order situation and we have been able to do that.”

He also sought the cooperation of the people in rooting out corruption.

Rawat also said that his government was committed to providing better healthcare facilities to the people. He announced the setting up of a laboratory for heart and cancer patients in a month’s time. “Along with starting up facilities for cancer and heart patients, we will also take measures to make our roads safe by addressing the accident prone areas. We hope to make our roads safe by end of this year,” he said.

He said that by April, around 111 additional ambulances will be added in the existing fleet of 108 emergency ambulance services. He also shared with the people the steps taken by his government for initiating good governance in the state.

Further, TS Rawat today flagged off a mobile food testing laboratory and distributed loan cheques. Geeta Kaur and Kishore were handed over e-rickshawas. The Chief Minister also announced release of the pending honorarium (Rs 33 crore) of ASHA workers. A few ASHA workers were handed cheques at the venue itself.
