DEHRADUN:Girls outshone boys in the Class X and Class XII examinations, the results of which were declared by the Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) on Saturday.

Girls outshone boys in the Class X and Class XII examinations, the  results of which were declared by the Uttarakhand Board of School Education (UBSE) on Saturday. 

Divyanshi Raj from Jaspur and student of RLS Chauhan Inter-College topped the Class XII exams while Kajal Prajapati of Khatima Udham Singh Nagar and student of Rana Pratap Inter-College topped the  Class X exams. Both scored 98.40 per cent  marks. Both toppers hail from Udham Singh Nagar, the home district of School Education Minister Arvind Pandey. 

In all, 78.97 per cent students  passed the Class XII  examination  and 74.47 per cent Class X exam. As much as  82.83 per cent girls passed the Class XII exams, while the pass percentage for boys was 75.03 per cent.  On the other hand, the pass percentage of girls for Class X was 80.22 per cent and it was 68.95 per cent for boys.  

The pass percentage of Bageshwar district for Class X and Class XII was the highest, while it was the lowest in Haridwar district.

A total of 1,32,381 students appeared for Class X and 1,49,445 for Class XII exams.
