Chief Minister TS Rawat on Friday inaugurated the three-day Tehri Lake festival at Koti Colony. The festival is being organised to promote Tehri Lake and the adjoining areas as an important tourist destination for national and international tourists.

Floating huts on Tehri Lake, Swiss tents and other water adventure activities are the main highlights of the festival. Eight bloggers from different parts of the country have reached Tehri to promote the festival through their blogs.

As part of the water activities, the tourists will have the opportunity to enjoy river rafting, boating, jet skiing, surfing and canoeing.

The Chief Minister also released a book titled Purana evam Vartaman Tehri on the occasion.

Rawat said that next year a sea-plane service would be introduced in Tehri. He also inaugurated several development projects such as multipurpose parking, tourist pathway at Chamba and Koti.  In his address, Rawat said that Tehri had a huge tourism potential and the government would announce more schemes in the coming years for the development of the area.
