Mussoorie, May 11

Activists of the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) have demanded a CBI probe into the fake IAS trainee case.

Coming out in support of Deb Singh, security guard at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) who has been suspended for allegedly subletting his quarter to Ruby Chaudhry, the prime accused in the case, party activists registered their protest at the academy today.

They raised slogans against the academy authorities for allegedly harassing Deb Singh and wrongly implicating him in the case Central president of the UKD Trivendar Panwar said DGP BS Sidhu had already recommended a CBI probe into the case but the state government was yet to announce the same.

“It seems the government is trying to shield senior officials of the academy, who are involved in the case. It is also unfortunate that Deputy Director of the academy Saurabh Jain has not been arrested so far despite his namefiguring in the case,” alleged Panwar.

UKD vice-president NK Gusain said the police should stop harassing Deb Singh and the case be handed over to the CBI for a free and fair investigation. Ruby Chaudhry stayed at the prestigious IAS training academy in Mussoorie for over six months masquerading as a probationer.
