Dehradun, January 21

The Uttarakhand Kranti Dal (UKD) has decided to contest all 70 Assembly seats alone.

UKD patron BD Raturi, while addressing mediapersons at the party office in Dehradun today, said the party would contest all 70 Assembly seats. The UKD cadres were in high spirits as the two factions had now come together to fight as one party. The candidates for all seats would be announced shortly, he added.

Raturi said both BJP and Congress were facing rebellion by sitting MLAs, ticket seekers and local leaders. People had understood that only a regional party could work for the betterment of the state. Raturi added Trivendra Singh Panwar would lead the election campaign committee of the party.

He welcomed Sushil Mamgain into the UKD fold. Mamgain is contesting the elections from the Raipur Assembly seat as Independent candidate. Omi Uniyal, Bahadur Singh Rawat and DD Sharma were present.
