Uttarakhand Police solve kidnapping case

DEHRADUN: A joint team of Pithoragarh police station and special task force has been able to get a kidnapped person released.

A joint team of Pithoragarh police station and special task force has been able to get a kidnapped person released. The kidnapped man was brought back to his native place after he was released.

Ganesh Dutt Joshi, son of Jamuna Joshi, resident of Pithoragarh, had got a case registered after he received a phone call about kidnapping of his elder brother, identified as Ramesh Chander Joshi.

He said Ramesh was abducted from Pithoragarh and was taken to Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, on December 15. According to the complainant, the kidnappers had demanded a ransom of Rs 2 lakh for Ramesh’s release.

A joint team comprising Inspector Ganesh Singh and SOG Sub-Inspector VS Rana conducted raids at several places in the state. Mobile phones were under scanner for finding out Ramesh’s location.

A team of police officers was sent to Mathura. Ramesh was released by the police and was brought to Pithoragarh.
