Chief Minister Harish Rawat today visited various slum dwellings in the Rajpur and Raipur Assembly constituencies of Dehradun district.

The Chief Minister, while addressing the gathering at the Bhagat Singh Colony, said his government had undertaken all steps to provide best civic amenities, particularly in slum areas of the state.

He said the regularisation of slums had been the biggest achievement of his government. He said the state government had also started Jan Awas scheme to provide cheap housing to the poor. He also held that the state government had worked to strengthen sports infrastructure in the state. He was referring to the recently inaugurated international cricket stadium in Dehradun.

Rajpur Road Congress MLA Rajkumar said the state had witnessed a speedy development under the rule of Harish Rawat government. He said poor and unprivileged had been benefited the most under in the Congress rule.

Former Congress mahanagar president Lalchand Sharma, senior leader Rajni Rawat and councilor Prakash Negi were also present.
