Welham school wins basketball tourney

Dehradun: The basketball team of Welham Boys School won the 31st All India Golden Jubilee Basketball Tournament 2017 by beating Blue Bells School, Delhi, in the finals played here on Sunday. Eight teams from all over the country participated in the tournament organised by Welham Boys School from April 20 to 23.In the final match played here, the Welham school team defeated Blue Bells School, Delhi, by 69-48. The Most Valuable Player Award was given to Vijay Prakash of Welham school while Oasis of Blue Bells was adjudged to be the best defender. The chief guest for the final was Indian basketball player Ravindran Murali Krishna. — TNS
