Washington: A federal judge in Los Angeles has rejected a request by adult film actress Stormy Daniels to restart her lawsuit there against US President Donald Trump and his longtime lawyer Michael Cohen.

Washington: A federal judge in Los Angeles has rejected a request by adult film actress Stormy Daniels to restart her lawsuit there against US President Donald Trump and his longtime lawyer Michael Cohen. US District Judge James Otero said the amount of media attention in the case was not a sufficient reason to reconsider the 90-day stay he had imposed in April. Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, is suing to void a non-disclosure agreement under which Cohen paid her $130,000 not to discuss her alleged relationship with Trump. Reuters

Twitter unveils new platform for publishers

San Francisco: In an apparent attempt to get close to publishers, Twitter has launched “Twitter Media” — a website dedicated to helping small publishers get the most from its platform. “With Facebook disappointing publishers for the last few years Twitter saw an opportunity, and now it’s launching ‘Twitter Media’,” tech website WeRSM reported on Tuesday. “Twitter Media” will be updated regularly with case studies and success stories and will also feature a blog to help publishers stay up-to-date with tools for publishers. Indian-American is CEO of Amazon-led joint health care 

New York: Eminent Indian-American surgeon, writer and public health innovator Atul Gawande has been named as the CEO of a new US employee health care company, a joint venture between Amazon, Berkshire Hathaway and JPMorgan Chase, the three American majors announced on Wednesday. Gawande, 52, will take over as the Chief Executive Officer of the company from July 9. The new company will be headquartered in Boston and will operate as an independent entity that is free from profit-making incentives and constraints. PTI

Dennis Quaid to play Ronald Reagan in new biopic

Los Angeles: Dennis Quaid has been roped in to play former US President Ronald Reagan in a new biopic. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the actor will play the title role in the film, currently dubbed as “Reagan”,  which will explore the ex-POTUS’ life from boyhood through his presidency of both the US and the Screen Actors Guild. Sean McNamara will direct the biopic from a script by Howie Klausner and Jonas McCord. The feature is based on two biographies from author Paul Kengor. PTI
