Human chain marks 100th week of Bagmati campaign
Kathmandu: Over one lakh people, including Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, formed a 56 km human chain here to mark the 100th week of the clean Bagmati campaign, aimed at creating awareness on keeping the historic river clean. The event was aimed at creating awareness among the people on keeping the historic river clean by not dumping waste and sewage that flow near the Pashupatinath Temple, according to the organisers. International Hindi Centre to be set up in US
New York: With a view to promote Hindi as a world language, plans are underway to establish a 'Hindi Centre' near here that will serve as an academic and cultural hub and facilitate exchange programmes between Indian and American universities. A resolution to set up the Hindi centre was adopted unanimously by the delegates at the three-day conference. PTI
