San Cristóbal de las Casas: The Agua Azul waterfalls in southern Mexico are a playground of bright turquoise water cascading over limestone steps. But after a 8.2-magnitude earthquake on September 7, they dried up, and the area’s once-booming tourist economy along with them. The state of Chiapas, where the falls trickle near the ancient Mayan ruins of Palenque, was the epicentre of the quake that killed 96 people. Trump reverses ban on elephant trophies
Washington: The Trump administration said it will allow the importation of body parts from African elephants shot for sport, contending that encouraging wealthy big-game hunters to kill them will aid the vulnerable species. A licensed two-week hunt can cost more than USD 50,000 per person. The decision overrides a 2014 ban imposed by the Obama administration. AP
Parked and forgotten, car found after 20 yrs
Berlin: A 76-year-old man in Germany was reunited with his car after 20 years in Frankfurt, where he had parked the vehicle in 1997 but forgot the spot and assumed that it got stolen. The car, reported “stolen” to the police by the man, then 56, was not functional and had to be scrapped. It was found in a garage in an old industrial building that is due to be demolished. PTI
