Gymkhana Ladies Club goes to polls after six years

In the elections held at the Gymkhana Ladies Club after a gap of six years, Kiran Bhatia and Ravinderjit Kaur were chosen unopposed for the post of secretary and joint secretary, respectively, on Saturday.

In the elections held at the Gymkhana Ladies Club after a gap of six years, Kiran Bhatia and Ravinderjit Kaur were chosen unopposed for the post of secretary and joint secretary, respectively, on Saturday. Veenu Nanda registered a thumping victory over Santosh Saini by garnering 120 votes out of 166 to claim the post of entertainment secretary. Seema Arora was won the post of joint secretary after defeating Alpana Puri by five votes. A recounting was done at her behest. However, with the same result again, Vani Ratnam, the ex-officio president of the Gymkhana Ladies Club, inducted her into the panel of executive members.

There are around 500 members in the Gymkhana Ladies Club. Following are the members who were elected in the polls: Kiran Bhatia (secretary unopposed); Ravinderjit Kaur (Jt secretary unopposed); Veenu Nanda (entertainment secretary); Poonam Arora (Jt secretary, entertainment); Manorama Mayor (treasurer); Moninder Dhiman (Jt treasurer); Neelam Thakur (food secretary); Seema Arora (Jt food secretary).

Following were elected members of the executive council of the Gymkhana Ladies Club: Amita Arora, Shailja Aggarwal, Shweta Monga, Hardish Kiran, Sunita Uppal, Mohina, Vandana Kalia, Promil Chopra, Promil Dada and Harsh Trehan.
