Shimla, December 17

The High Court today directed the Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) not to finalise the selection process for the recruitment of transport multipurpose assistants (conductors) till further orders.

The court passed the interim order on a petition filed by Shashi Bhushan who had alleged that serious illegalities were committed by the authorities to accommodate their own persons. Almost 35,000 candidates had applied for the post.

A division bench comprising Chief Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir and Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan made it clear that the selection would not create any right or equity in the favour of the petitioner. It further directed the managing director of the HRTC to file the reply by December 31, the day on which matter is listed for further hearing.
