Security has been beefed up at key locations like the railway station and the Golden Temple while an advisory has also been issued to the city-based schools to enhance the security cover. The school managements have been asked to install CCTV cameras on their premises.

“I have passed instructions to all Assistant Commissioners of the police in the city to hold meetings with managements of various schools falling in their respective areas and discuss the security arrangements,” said Police Commissioner Jatinder Singh Aaulakh while speaking on The Tribune.

According to reports around 150 persons, a majority of of whom were schoolchildren, were killed in the ghastly incident in Peshawar, which shook the whole world.

Following the intelligence inputs and instructions from Central agencies, a red alert has been sounded in the holy city also.
