200 take part in anti-obesity walkathon

Around 200 people, including senior citizens, doctors, nurses and staff of Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali, participated in an anti-obesity walkathon.

Chandigarh, November 27

Around 200 people, including senior citizens, doctors, nurses and staff of Max Super Speciality Hospital, Mohali, participated in an anti-obesity walkathon. It was conducted in association with senior citizens of the tricity on the occasion of World Anti-Obesity Day at Chandigarh Lake, Sector 42, here.

The walk demonstrated the concept of “Flab is Bad” - ability of shedding lot of weight by walking.

The walkathon was flagged off by Sandeep Dogra, Vice-President, Operations, and chief guest, SP South, Urvija Goel.

A patient information booklet, “There is so much to gain by loosing”, was unveiled by doctors from the general surgery team of Max Hospital comprising Dr NM Gupta, Dr Manmohan Singh Bedi, Dr KS Dhillon and nutritionist Shivani Gulati. The doctors later conducted a health seminar for the participants and disseminated important information on weight loss and diet control.
