Hoshiarpur-Delhi Express chugs off

Hoshiarpur, December 6

Union Minister of State Vijay Sampla and Rajya Sabha MP Avinash Rai Khanna flagged off the daily Hoshiarpur-Delhi Express here this evening.
The train, started on October 2 last year, initially ran once a week. The service has been made daily. The train will depart from Hoshiarpur at 10:30 pm and reach Delhi at 7:10 am. On its return journey, the train will start at 9 pm and reach the town at 5:15 am.
The train will stop at Jalandhar Cantonment, Phagwara, Ludhiana, Ambala Cantonment and Panipat. Sampla said he would try the railway link of the town to be extended till Tanda or Ropar to
provide better connectivity
to commuters.
He said under the Swachh Bharat Mission, the railway station and surrounding areas would be beautified.
Khanna said the train would not only benefit the locals but those wanting to visit Chintpurni from various places in Punjab, Haryana and Delhi. Divisional Railway Manager Naresh Goyal gave details of the developmental works being carried by
the Railways.
