Victim Jyoti’s father is all set to fight the case again against Doon MLA Ram Kumar Chaudhary and others in the Jyoti murder case. Buti Ram, the father will be filing his appeal on Monday in the Punjab and Haryana High Court against the order of the Panchkula court which acquitted the accused.

In a detailed appeal, Buti Ram through his counsel Rajesh Sharma will state 25 points which says how clinching evidence was not produced by the police and the prosecution before the court that led to the acquittal of the accused.

“Immediately after having come to know about the murder of the victim, the Panchkula police put five phone numbers, including that of the MLA’s wife on interception, prima facie, but that record of the same was not produced before the court,” said counsel Rajesh Sharma.

He added, “We have also mentioned how Buti had earlier moved an application in the High Court that the Panchkula police was manipulated and did not do the investigations properly.”

The appeal also states the fact that Chaudhary made contradictory statements in the bail application and his statements during the trial was not put forth by the prosecution.

“The MLA in his bail application said that he attended the wedding of Ishu, Jyoti’s sister at Hoshiarpur and his statements under Section 313, he said he did not know any one of them. Why was this fact not brought before the court by the prosecution,” added the advocate.

The counsel in his appeal has also said that the Panchkula police did not arrest Satpal, who could fill in the missing links into the case.

Interestingly, the case of the appeal filed by the Haryana police before the High court against the order of the acquittal will also be heard today.
