Ludhiana, December 13

The United Cycle and Parts Manufacturers Association (UCPMA) held a meeting where they welcomed Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal’s announcement of evasion of VAT on bicycles.

“If the VAT on bicycles become zero/nil then it will be more beneficial to the customer as they will get the cycles at a cheaper rate. The government officials will also be relived as they do not have to maintain the records of VAT claims. Industry owners will also be relieved as they won’t have to run to government officials for VAT refund,” said Charanjit Singh Vishivkarma, UCPMA president.

Meanwhile, Badish Jindal, who has been appointed district president of the Shiromani Akali Dal’s trade and industry wing, was honoured here today. The UCPMA members put before Jindal the various problems related to the cycle industry.

On behalf of the Punjab Bicycle Industry, Badish Jindal will properly explain the problems to the Deputy Chief Minister and will try to resolve them. Jindal assuredthat in future all the problems of the cycle industries would be discussed with the Punjab Chief Minister and would be resolved at the earliest.
